Biocide Chemical Solutions To Help Maintain Oil & Gas Production Pipeline Integrity

Multi-Chem’s line of biocides and biological control technologies are formulated to sterilize water used in frac jobs and help maintain pipeline integrity from potential problems, such as pitting corrosion, oil carryover and polymer degradation.

Benefits
  • Control system fouling from iron sulfide
  • Protect formations from externally induced bacterial contamination which can sour oil and gas production
  • Control hydrogen sulfide accumulation in production equipment and vessels, which could potentially lead to failures, system downtime, high operating expenses, reduced hydrocarbon production and safety concerns due to H2S accumulation
  • Reduce biomass from well bores previously fractured using fluids that did not incorporate biocides, oxygen scavengers or scale inhibitor treatments

Biological contamination in oil and gas production systems has many causes. Some of which can be controlled by efficient system design and operation, while others may be the result of system conditions that cannot be controlled. To make an effective treatment recommendation, Multi-Chem takes the time to understand how biocide performance may be enhanced or degraded, based on your system chemistry, system design and operation and even formation chemistry and conducts a thorough evaluation of your systems, including:
  • Analysis of system SRB/ APB test data
  • Total Dissolved Solids (TDS)/ comprehensive water analysis
  • Temperature profiles
  • Water cut
  • Hydrogen sulfide concentration
  • Occurrence of pitting corrosion
  • Current biocide regime
  • Production data
Multi-Chem is committed to working with you to design a cost effective program to control any bacterial populations you may encounter for the lifecycle of your well. We also provide in-field bacterial monitoring and perform bacterial enumeration tests before and after all biological treatments to verify the results of the biocide application.

If you have issues with pitting corrosion, iron sulfide or biomass accumulation, oil carryover, polymer degradation, biomass accumulation or fouling of low permeability production zones, Multi-Chem can evaluate your systems and determine the most effective biocide treatment solutions you need to bring you back to maximum efficiency and profitability.
